Origami 折紙: (Oru = bend, kami = paper) is the art of making figures using plain or colored paper. Common patterns are animals, flowers and decorations. It´s known and practiced in many countries, but specially in Japan. Origami is a nice and amusing hobby.

Tips and tricks while doing origami:

1. Choose the right paper. Cut and bend it very accurately, and follow the exact steps given.

2. Always work neatly.

3. As the bending must be done in a precise and accurate way, it is adviced to work on a hard, flat table.

4. Using the thumb nail to press on the borders after bending will define a better shape, making it easier to continue after.

5. The most carefully you bend the paper, the better the shapes will become.

6. Follow the steps in the exact order as given.

7. Don´t miss any step, even if it seems useless.

8. Take care of details. As an example, pay special attention on which direction to bend the paper.

9. If you are a beginner, start with the easiest shapes. Some origamis require more experience to be done properly. The examples given here are easy for starters.
